First look at Rosario’s in Southtown

Rosario’s much-anticipated new location opens today, Friday Feb. 10, on the site of the former El Mirado café.
Owner Lisa Wong purchased the property in 2018, but it wasn’t until 2020 that the HDRC approved her request to build over the site.
The Southtown staple’s new home features a much larger footprint. Check out the deets:
First floor: 15,000 sqft of dining space, a bar and lounge area, and private party room
Upper level: Rooftop bar with views of downtown + a dedicated bar and a small-bites menu
The rooftop bar is restricted to ages 23 and older; the upper level is still in development and expected toopen in the spring.
You can stop by anytime from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and order from its made-from-scratch menu featuring locally sourced ingredients at 722 S. Saint Mary’s St.
Editor’s pick: Looking for a Valentine’s Day gift for someone special? Consider a candle from Felíz Modern. I gifted Taylor’s Cardigan to my younger cousin for Christmas, and this is what she had to say:
“Finally had the strength to use it because it’s so cute, but it smells so good! It literally makes me an academic weapon. Tysm I love it.” — Mariana F.
With reviews like that, it’s really a no-brainer. (P.S. I’m a size “As It Was” candle if anyone wants to get me little something this year. 👀)
